FAQs about my Portrait Photography

What should we wear?
You should wear what you feel comfortable in and enables you to feel your best. The best colors are medium to dark solid colors that are not to bright.

Tips on clothing style for portraits:
- For group/ couple photos it's important that the the colors match together to create color harmony, light and dark colors together create visual confusion.
- Simple garments always photograph best.
- Long sleeves are best for teens and adults, since bare arms usually call attention to themselves and will overpower the face.
- V-necks and Turtle are usually flattering. Try to avoid very wide or very deep V-neck jerseys.
- Make sure that shoes and stockings are paired with the intent look of the portrait.
- Men should ideally have their hair cut about one week before the shoot.

Where do we have our session?
On-location sessions can be in your home, a nearby park or your favorite place, weather permitting. Studio shoots are in my home studio or in a studio in Arlington or Fort Worth, depending on the kind of photo shoot.

How long does the portrait session take?
Mini-sessions are 1/2 hour in length, regular portrait sessions last between one to three hours. I begin the session by getting to know you and understanding what kind of images you are looking for, we take some test shots and then we let the creativity take form.

Will I receive the digital files?
Yes, you will receive a CD/ DVD with hi-res digital images. Color corrected and edited with full printing rights.

Do you charge extra for on- location sessions?
There is no extra charge for a on-location portrait session unless it takes place outside the DFW area.

What do you charge for a portrait session?
One hour on-location session begins at $150 and $200 for a studio session. Click here to see my rates and get more info!

What services does the portrait session fee cover?
The fee covers the portrait session and the CD/ DVD with your hi-res digital images.

When will I get to see the photographs?
Images will be presented online within 7 days.

Do you offer styling or make-up services?
Yes. I can get you a professional make-up artist for a fee.

Will you do pet photography?
Yes, I often photograph pets or in portraits of their owners. I do occasionally also shoot portraits of pets such as dogs and cats.

Do you offer a range of products such as albums, frames, canvas and holiday cards?
Yes! I offer various photo albums, frames and prints. If you’re looking for something specific, just ask.

Do you photograph special events, such as parties, family gatherings or corporate events?
